CharityshareCharityshare is a consortium IT venture, jointly owned by the NSPCC, The Children’s Society, and the Alzheimer’s Society. Formed in November 2004 by the NSPCC and The Children’s Society, it now incorporates ChildLine following its merger with the NSPCC in July 2006, and the Alzheimer’s Society which joined in March 2007. Charityshare is at the heart of these charities’ ability to help some of the most vulnerable people in the country; providing, managing and supporting the charities’ IT infrastructure and associated IT services. Efficiency is at the heart of the Charityshare model, enabling high performance systems and services at costs affordable to the not-for-profit sector. In 2005, Charityshare was highly commended in the Charity Awards with the judges remarking that “the sector should take note of what has been achieved”.
Charityshare won Third Sector magazine's 2007 Excellence Award for charity partnerships with a judge commenting “It’s a really good, sensible collaboration offering high-quality IT services at good value for money”.
